1. Responsible for performing highly skilled and technical work in areas of installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic/electronic equipment with little or no supervision.
2. Troubleshoots and repairs PLC’s, AC and DC motor drives, High Frequency welding systems, radio controlled devices, Mobile two-way radios, and various other solid state controlled equipment.
3. Designs or modifies electronic/electrical systems to enhance equipment performance or safety.
4. Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs 3 phase (480v) motor circuits and control circuits in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
5. Assists in the training of junior electrical personnel.
6. Records labor, repairs made, downtime, and use of materials.
7. Operates forklift, man lift, and cherry picker.
8. PC use such as Windows, Outlook, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must have a minimum of a two-year degree or apprenticeship and Journeyman’s license and three years experience in a related field.
2. Must be proficient in the use of electronic test equipment; VOM, amp meter, oscilloscope, Megohm meter, etc.
3. Must demonstrate electronic/electrical knowledge through testing. FCC license a plus.
4. Must be able to read and interpret electrical/electronics schematics and blueprints, PLC logic (SLC 150 & 500), machine manuals, reference books, etc.
5. Must be able to apply math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions.
6. Must be able to climb and work off of ladders, man lifts, bridge cranes, roofs, etc. without fear of heights.
7. Must be able to lift within Valmont’s lifting standards.
